Mrs. Edwards’ family moved to Casa Grande from Nevada, Iowa in 1923.  After graduation from Casa Grande High School, she attended Arizona State Teacher’s College (now ASU).  While in college she met and married Leonard H. Edwards who has the distinction of being the first student to receive a diploma from the new Chandler High School in 1922.  Mr. Edwards was Town Clerk of the Town of Chandler, then Mrs. and Mrs. Edwards purchased the Handley Real Estate office on Boston Street and established the Leonard Edwards Insurance Agency in Chandler in 1947.  In addition to her many, many hours of service with the Junior Service Guild/Chandler Service Club, Mrs. Edwards also had a career working with her husband at the agency.  Mrs. and Mrs. Edwards were members of the Chandler Methodist Church.  Leonard passed away in 1980, and Mrs. Edwards passed away on July 28, 2007 at the age of 93.
