This is a special year for members of the Chandler Service Club.

The organization is celebrating its 75th year of service to the community. This Saturday the group will hold its final fundraising event of the year, the Grace and Giving Gala.

The event takes place at 6 p.m. at the San Marcos Resort in downtown Chandler. Festivities include live music, a silent auction and live auction. Tickets for the event are $100.

The Grace and Giving Gala is a chance for the club to celebrate some of its life members. This year's group of honorees consists of Barbara Bogle, Cathy Bua, Georgia Carillo-Irwin, Marylou Carpenter, Carol Dobson, Florene Grosvenor, Mary Guenther-Wilcox, Nancy Ryan Jerdee, Barbara Knox, Hal Knox, Hazel Lewis, Sharon Meadows, Jinx Patterson, Helene Rusk, Audrey Ryan, Joan Saba, Glennys "Terry" Saba, Colleen Serrano, Sue Sossaman, Oneta Vance and Maxine Wachs.

The Chandler Service Club was founded in 1933. The group's original mission was to provide hot lunches for school children who's families were effected by the Great Depression. Since that time the group has gone on to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for scholarships and community organizations ranging from Improving Chandler Area Neighborhoods (ICAN) to the Chandler Historical Society to the Boys and Girls Clubs.

The group has another of its signature events coming soon, the Flower Girls Ball on March 28.
