Community Scholarship Fund

March 1, 2010

Dear Community Scholarship Applicant,

Below is link to a scholarship application from the Chandler Service Club Community Scholarship Committee.  Chandler Service Club, a community-based philanthropic organization, established this scholarship fund in 1979 to lend assistance to deserving students who are residents of the greater Chandler community.  Our funds are obtained from a generous community which supports our annual Charity Ball and other fundraisers.  In addition to a variety of scholarships that we sponsor, Chandler Service Club donates funding locally to groups and organizations and provides service to needy and homebound individuals.  We believe wholeheartedly in supporting our citizens who wish to pursue advanced education for the betterment of themselves and ultimately their community.

Further criteria for eligibility are listed on the enclosed application.  In order to be considered, each section of the application must be fully completed.  If you previously received a CSC Community Scholarship, you must complete the application in its entirety. The filing period for applications begins March 1, 2010.  The scholarship application must be postmarked by April 15, 2010No applications postmarked beyond this date will be accepted.  You may mail your completed application to the address:

If you prefer to make arrangements for dropping the application off, please email me at: CSCscholarship@gmail.com

Each applicant is responsible for obtaining at least two letters of recommendation.  One copy of the recommendation form is enclosed.  If you are currently attending college, at least one of the recommendations must be from a college instructor.  Please ask your recommenders to mail their recommendations directly to me, postmarked by APRIL 15, 2010.  Recommendations enclosed with the application will not be accepted.  It is suggested that you remain in contact with your recommenders regarding this process as recommendations that are postmarked late will not be accepted and will result in an incomplete application.

Good luck completing your application.  Please do not hesitate to email me at CSCscholarship@gmail.com with further questions.

Sincerely,

Gwen Rusk, Community Scholarship Chairman
